Zero-Additional-Hardware Power Line Communication for DC–DC Converters

A power line communication (PLC) solution to provide a data link between two or more dc–dc converters is proposed. The approach does not require additional analog circuitry high-sample-rate analog-to-digital be added on top of the original system. modulation and signal injection method for transmitter, sampling demodulation strategy receiver are developed. PLC frequency band placed control loop cutoff electronics circuit frequency, in region that we identify as “intermediate band”. transmitter modulates converter voltage current output by injecting perturbations into at input PWM unit. To tolerate unsynchronized clocks, virtual zero-crossing location algorithm combined with long/short pulse identification achieve receiver. verified experimentally achieves reliable bidirectional 2 kb/s an 8 kHz frequency.
